GSO Test

Welcome

I am pleased to welcome you to our school's website which gives you some information about our school, its aims, organisation and activities.

Details of the application process for our school can be found on our Admissions page.

At St James the Great, we seek to create a supportive and friendly environment where each child has the opportunity to achieve their highest potential; academically, morally, physically, and spiritually. At SJTG, we strive to create a climate of tolerance and respect for individual differences, where Gospel values permeate daily life and everyone is encouraged to use their skills and talents for the good of all.

Our parish partnership is further strengthened through our close home-school relationship, which is integral to the success of and wellbeing of our pupils.

As a church school, we greatly value our strong links with our feeder parishes, St Bartholomew's, Norbury, and St Andrew's, Thornton Heath. We are grateful for the support of parish clergy, who contribute to the strong chaplaincy provision within the school.

We are very fortunate to have a supportive Governing Body, a dedicated Parents’ Association, a highly skilled and committed staff team, and, of course, hardworking and enthusiastic children.

I hope our website gives you a sense of the vibrant nature of our school and the broad and balanced curriculum we are proud to offer. You will also find links to the Department for Education Ofsted website, where you can access our excellent inspection report.

One of our recent developments is the installation of a solar-powered weather station on the school roof, funded by our Friends’ Association. This provides ongoing data on climatic conditions, which is used by pupils to support their learning.

I am often at the school entrance before and after the school day, so please feel free to come and speak with me to find out more about our wonderful school community.

If you have any queries or would like further information about any aspect of school life, please do not hesitate to contact the school by telephone or email.
