St. James the Great is a two-form entry Primary and Nursery School, with 479 children on roll.
Reception September 2022 applications (children born between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018)
The application process for this intake group opens on 1st September 2021 and closes on 14th January 2022
On the advice of the Education Commission of the Archdiocese of Southwark the Governing body of St James the Great Catholic Primary School has agreed the following statement in order to clarify how its faith-based oversubscription criteria will be interpreted whilst churches are closed or attendance at church is not possible due to COVID19. This statement has been shared widely with parishes in order to ensure that determinations made by parish priests concerning regular practice of the faith are being made on a consistent basis.
The suspension of the obligation to attend Sunday Mass was announced on 18th March 2020 by Bishops' Conference of England and Wales. If a parent/carer attended Mass at a particular parish (or parishes) prior to the 18th March 2020 then they will be considered to have attended Mass in that parish (or parishes) regularly since that time. This will remain the case until the Sunday obligation is reintroduced by the Bishops.

To apply for a place at this school, you need to complete the Supplementary Information form which you will find attached below, you can also get a form from the school office.
This must be returned to the school, together with the required supporting documentation before the closing date. There is also a requirement to complete an on-line application via your home local authority eg Croydon, Lambeth. If both parts of the process are not completed, your application will not be valid. Nursery September 2022 applications
(Children born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019).
The application process opens on 1st September 2021 and closes on 10th January 2022.
Offer Day is on the 4th March 2022
You need to complete the Supplementary Information form which you will find attached below, you can also get a form from the school office. Completed forms, together with supporting documentation should be submitted before the closing date. Applications received after that date may not be considered unless places remain after decisions have been made in regard to all on-time applications. The School's Admissions Secretary should be contacted if you require further information about this aspect of the admissions process.
For in-year applications (for children who should be in Years R,1,2,3,4,5 or 6) please contact Miss M Castineira (Admissions Secretary) at the school, who will explain the procedure for adding a child's name to the waiting list. Alternatively, please complete an In Year Admission registration form which is below and return to the school office. A hard copy is also available to collect from the school.
